Benefits of Ethernet Cables

Category 5e:  CAT5e (Category 5e or Category 5 Enhanced) is a network cable standard that was approved in 1999. CAT5e provides much better performance including up to ten times quicker speeds and a significantly larger capacity to traverse distances without even being affected by crosstalk.

CAT5e cables are 24-gauge twisted pair wires. On the other hand, it enables Gigabit networks at 100-meter distances that is an ideal option.

Specifications of Category 5e cable:

  • Affordable
  • Frequency of up to 100MHz
  • Maximum cable length of 100 meters
  • RJ45 Connectors.
  • Cat5 cables are flexible, with applications ranging from networking to telephone wire.
  • Also, Cat5 cables are also simple to install and do not require any additional tools.
  • There is also less interference than Cat5.
  • It has high speed of 1000Mbps

Category 6 cable:  CAT6 is an Ethernet-specific twisted pair cable and can enable Gigabit Ethernet segments up to 100 meters, but they can also be used in 10-Gigabit networks over short distances. It served as the backbone infrastructure connecting routers and switches. Category 6 is the ideal option if your company requires high-speed data transit.

The specification for Cat6 features is it provides performance of up to 250 MHz. The result is less noise, fewer errors and higher data rates in the transmission of the signal.

Specifications of Category 6 cable:

  • Cat 6 is affordable, but it is more expensive than Cat5e
  • The maximum frequency of cat6 is 500MHz
  • Maximum cable length is 100 meters for slower network speeds (up to 1000Mbps) and 55 meters for faster network speeds (up to 2000Mbps).
  • Less interference than Cat5e
  • RJ45 Connectors

This could be an excellent option for networking in industrial situations where signal interference from motors, generators, or wireless devices is a problem.

CAT6A Cables: are an ideal choice if you need a cost-effective solution for a future cabling infrastructure. CAT6A cables have a maximum bandwidth of 500MHz and can support data transfer rates of up to 10Gbps. So, if you want to stay it longer, you should select to install this as it a good option.  CAT6A is considered one of the most cost-effective alternatives because it is designed to accommodate future demands.

Specifications of Category 6a cable:

  • CAT6A supports twice the capacity of CAT6. Longer cables with higher speeds allow for greater flexibility and performance.
  • CAT6A is thick and sturdy, it is an excellent choice for harsh industrial applications.
  • CAT6A has a higher degree of efficacy in reducing undesired crosstalk.

Cat5e and Cat6 cable specifications both allow for 100-meter lengths. For 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Cat6 cables can be utilized. Cat6 cables cost 10-20% more than Cat5e cables.
